West End, Gaston, Sardis, Ashville come up short

West End fell to 0-6 on the season with a 36-6 loss to Vinemont on Friday, Sept. 27 in Walnut Grove.
The Patriots’ lone score came on Jaxon Hamby 21-yard touchdown pass to Eli Williams in the fourth quarter.
Hamby was 8 for 15 in passing for 76 yards and rushed 12 times for 54 yards. Jackson Mayo (pictured above at left) caught seven passes for 55 yards. Defensively, Zeke Williams faced a fumble, Jud Bunch recovered a fumble and Colby Pierce blocked a PAT.
The Patriots resume Class 2A Region 6 region play on Friday, Oct. 4 at home against Cold Springs.

Gaston lost to Whitesburg Christian, 41-0, on Friday, Sept. 27 in Huntsville,
For the Bulldogs (1-4), Keller Skaggs rushed for 28 yards, Nate Oliver for 27 and Tavis Brown for 25. Skaggs had five tackles on defense.
Gaston gets back to Class 2A Region 7 play on Friday, Oct. 4 at Section.

Sardis lost to Alexandria, 36-14, on Friday, Sept. 27 in Sardis City. The Lions (1-5) get back to Class 5A Region 8 play on Friday, Oct. 4 at home against Boaz.

Ashville fell to Talladega, 35-28, on Friday, Sept. 27 at Talladega. The Bulldogs (1-4) resume Class 4A Region 6 play on Oct. 4 at home against White Plains.
