Two teams with chips on their shoulders will meet tonight (Sept. 6) in Walnut Grove.

Both squads got handed pretty lopsided losses last week and both are better than those scores indicate.

“We’re a better team than that game showed,” West End coach Randy Hallmark said. “We’re young, so when the wheels fall off, they all fall off.”

Last week, the Patriots turned the ball over the first three times they had the ball, resulting in four Susan Moore touchdowns in the opening quarter.

The same type scenario happened to Ider, so whichever team can hold onto the ball should win this Class 2A, Region 7 matchup.

“Ider has good size and they’re used to winning,” Hallmark said. “I’m sure that coach (Brent Tinker) has really worked them hard this week.”

Rhett Lister and Chase Blanton each scored a touchdown for West End against Susan Moore.
