Westbrook, Coosa volleyball teams post wins

Class 3A No. 9 Westbrook Christian ran its record to 21-2 after a 25-17, 25-022, 25-15 win over Glencoe in Area 11 action on September 22 in Rainbow City. For the Lady Warriors, Raylee Neal had 23 assists, eight digs and three kills; Raegan Harrell had five kills and four digs; Landri Lipscomb had nine kills and three aces; Taylor Meador had seven kills; Brielle Wood had seven digs and five aces; Marley Cox had seven digs, six kills and two aces; and Ellison Stewart had six digs and three kills.

Coosa Christian came up short against Jacksonville Christian, 25-23, 14-25, 18-25, 27-25, 15-13 on September 22 in Gadsden. For the Lady Conquerors (6-6), Evelyn Nowak (pictured above) had 12 kills, three digs and two aces; Mills Douthard had 17 assists and two digs; Jillian Delp had 13 digs and three aces; Kate England had four kills; and Natalie Delp had three kills, two blocks and two aces.

Westbrook Christian defeated Etowah County neighbor and Class 3A, Area 11 rival Hokes Bluff, 25-9, 25-19, 19-25, 25-18 last Tuesday (Sept. 20). For the Lady Warriors, Raylee Neal had 31 kills, 19 digs, four kills and two aces; Taylor Meador had 11 kills, three digs, two aces and two blocks; Marley Cox had 12 digs, four kills and two assists; Ellison Stewart had 10 kills and three assists; Raegan Harrell had six kills, three digs and two aces; and Landri Lipscomb had four kills, four digs and two blocks.

Westbrook Christian posted a tri-match sweep on September 15, defeating Sylvania, 22-25, 25-16, 15-4 and Sardis, 25-17, 26-21. For the Lady Warriors, Raylee Neal had 38 assists, 14 digs, six kills and three aces; Raegan Harrell had 16 kills, seven digs and three aces; Kylee Wyatt had 27 digs; Marley Cox had 17 kills and 13 digs; Henley Beddingfield had six assists and five digs; Taylor Meador had seven kills and two blocks; and Landri Lipscomb had three kills, three aces, three digs and two blocks.

Coosa Christian fell to Victory Christian, 22-25, 25-23, 9-25, 25-21, 15-13 on September 16 in Pell City. For the Lady Conquerors (6-5), Mills Douthard had 31 assists, eight digs and three kills; Evelyn Nowak had 20 kills, eight digs and six aces; Jillian Delp had 18 digs and two assists; Amira Augustus had 17 digs; and Kailah East had six kills.

Gadsden State swept Wallace-Selma, 25-10, 25-9, 25-14 in Alabama Community College Conference action on September 20 at Beck Field House. For the Lady Cardinals (6-6), Bliss Brown had 27 assists, eight digs and four aces; Moriah Seay had 10 kills and nine digs; Sera Beth Potter had nine kills; Savannah Free had nine assists; and Madison Williams and Alex Ellis each had six kills.

Gadsden State posted a 25-21, 25-21, 27-29, 22-25, 15-4 win over Enterprise State on September 16 at Beck Field House. For the Lady Cardinals, Bliss Brown had 22 assists, 10 digs, three kills and two aces; Moriah Seay had 17 kills, four digs and two aces; Sera Beth Potter had 13 kills, three digs and two aces; Savannah Free had 19 assists and five digs; Kayden Blankenship had 14 digs; Zoe Walker had 10 digs; Alex Ellis had five kills and three blocks; and Madison Williams had four kills.

Gadsden State fell to Lurleen Wallace, 25-23, 23-25, 17-25, 25-10, 15-13 on September 15 at Beck Field House. For the Lady Cardinals, Bliss Brown had 20 digs; 19 assists, five aces and three kills; Moriah Seay had 20 digs, 11 kills and two blocks; Savannah Free had 21 digs and 13 assists; Keelan Vice had 11 kills; Kayden Blankenship had 10 digs and two aces; Sera Beth Potter had nine kills; Paige Collier had nine digs; Madison Williams had five kills and three blocks; Alex Ellis had four kills and four blocks; Morgan Moseley had five digs; Jade Bell had four digs; and Sidney Peterson and Karlee Boyd each had three kills.
