Westbrook sweeps its way to FCA tourney title

The Westbrook Christian volleyball team went 8-0 en route to winning the Faith Christian Classic Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 24 in Anniston.
In pool play, the Lady Warriors defeated Faith Christian, 25-11, 25-21; West End, 25-13, 25-17; and Ranburne, 25-13, 25-21. In the elimination bracket, Westbrook beat Benjamin Russell, 25-17, 25-15; West End, 25-19, 25-22; and Faith Christian, 25-16, 25-19.
Kylee Wyatt was selected as Tournament MVP, while Ellison Stewart was named Tournament Offensive Player.
For the tournament, Stewart had 49 kills, 39 digs and six aces; Wyatt had 44 digs and eight aces; Raylee Neal had 115 assists, 26 digs and five aces; Marley Cox had 42 digs, 31 kills and 10 aces; Landri Lipscomb had 17 kills and six digs; Addi Hammontree had 21 digs, 11 kills and five blocks; and Caroline Taylor had 16 kills and six blocks.
