The Glencoe track and field team won nine medals at the Gadsden City Kickoff Meet on Feb. 29.
The GHS girls 4×800 meter relay team of Chloe Douglas (pictured above), Palin Cook, Anna Grace Ponder and Sarah Ponder took first place with a time of 12:34.88.
Taking the second-place silver was Heather Lancaster in the girls 1600-meter run (7:55.66) and the boys 4×800 relay team of Stephen Orr, Spencer Isbell, Josiah Medders and Aaden Gray (11:50.78).
Third place finishers were Anna Grace Ponder in the girls 400-meter dash (1:18.29), Heather Lancaster in the girls 800-meter run (3:31.83 ), Ella Hipps in the girls javelin (79-1 ), Josiah Medders in the boys 1600-meter run (6:27.38), the girls 4×100-meter relay team of Ella Hipps, Alyssa Jemison, Chloe Douglas and Sarah Ponder (1:01.01) and the boys 4×100-meter relay team of Brylan Walton, Will Phillips, Stephen Orr and Trent Martin (51.78).
