Ford throws for 5 TDs in Warrior loss

Despite Jonathan Ford’s five touchdown passes, Westbrook Christian came up short to Ider, 39-34, in Class 2A, Region 7 action last Friday in Rainbow City.

With the Warriors (1-2, 0-2) trailing 21-0 in the second quarter, Ford and DeVernon Marshall connected on touchdown passes on 50, 27 and five yards and Ford tossed a scoring pass to Darrell Whatley.

Alexandria halts Hokes Bluff

Panthers rush past Scottsboro

Southside scored on its opening possession of the game and went on to claim a 27-7 win over Scottsboro last Friday at Barney Hood Stadium.

The Panthers improved to 3-0 overall, 2-0 in Class 5A Region 7. Scottsboro fell to 0-3 and 0-2.

Southside ran 50 times for 466 yards.
