Area athletes recognized
Three local student-athletes were nominated this week for the Alabama Sports Writers Association Player of the Week award and the Alabama High School Athletic Association Prep Spotlight for Week 9 of the 2012 high school football season.
West End junior quarterback Levi Weems accounted for four touchdowns – two rushing and two passing – to lead the Patriots to
