Ford’s appointees to meet today on school security
State Rep. Craig Ford (D-Gadsden) recently appointed a committee to review security policies and readiness in Etowah County schools.
The committee will meet at 10 a.m. today (Jan. 11) at The Chamber offices.

The Etowah County Board of Education hired a new band director to lead the Southside High School and Rainbow Middle School bands at its Jan. 8 meeting.
The new director of bands, Matt Weaver, had already been on the job for a few days before the board’s actions.

Hindsman named to Etowah Board

Todd Hindsman of Southside was appointed Jan. 8 to fill the vacancy left on the Etowah County Board of Education when Mack Butler won the District 30 special election.
Hindsman, a certified public accountant with Hindsman-Davis, PC-CPA, was one of nine people who sought the position on the board.
“I’m excited about having the opportunity to serve,” Hindsman said.
