Raising rates the same as raising taxes

Mismanagement.
That is the only word to describe the state’s decision this week to raise insurance premiums on state employees instead of choosing to tap into the board’s reserves for next year.
It would be one thing if this were a small increase or if there were no other options. But this is not a small increase we are talking about.

Gadsden Regional hosts a Mammogram Marathon on Oct. 17

Gadsden Regional Medical Center’s Women’s Imaging Center will host a Mammogram Marathon during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
On Oct. 17, women who schedule mammograms will be treated to refreshments and door prizes will be given. The marathon hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.. From 1-3 p.m. Dr. Linsay Frederick will provide free breast exams.
