Shields leads the way in Lady Eagles win over Sardis

For the second year in a row, Hokes Bluff will be playing for the girls’ county championship.

Also for the second time in as many years, Carlie Shields is the reason why.

The Southside High girls basketball team may not have been out to make a statement on Tuesday (Jan. 14) in their first round game of the Etowah County Tournament.

The Lady Panthers, however, may have served notice that the championship may be theirs for the taking after soundly defeating West End 65-20, at Gadsden State.
