Glencoe hosts its 12th Celebration in the Park

The City of Glencoe will be celebrating with a splash on Saturday (May 17) as it hosts the 12th annual Celebration in the Park and opens its new splash pad with a ribbon cutting at 12 p.m.

Laura Pearce, a registered nurse in orthopedics at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, has been named the 2014 Patient Choice Award winner.

Area softball teams gearing up for regionals

The softball tournament season is here. Today and Saturday (May 9 and 10), teams around the state will compete in regional tournaments.
There are four teams in each classification at each regional. Of those, the champion and the losers’ bracket champion will travel to Montgomery next week for the state tournament.
