Farm City poster contest winners announced

  Etowah County Farmer’s Federation and Eto-wah County Soil and Water Conservation District held their annual Farm City Poster contest recently.  

The contest is open to all kindergarten through sixth grade students in Etowah. The theme was “Agriculture:  365 Sunrises and 7 Billion Mouths to Feed”.  

First place winner in the K-3 division was Ellie Clevenger, second grade

Although he graduated from Southside in December and is enrolled at Auburn University, Tyler Carr added a few more awards this week for his standout high school football career.

At the Alabama Sports Writers Association Player of the Year banquet on Wednesday (Jan. 14) in Montgomery, Carr was named the ASWA Class 6A
