Jimmie Harp speaks to local Democrats

Etowah County District Attorney Jimmie Harp was the keynote speaker at a recent meeting of the Etowah County Democratic Executive Committee. The group met at Top O’ The River where Harp announced his plans to run for re-election as a Democrat.

City smoke-free ordinance in effect

The City of Gadsden officially became smoke-free Feb. 1 as implementation begins on the comprehensive smoke-free ordinance passed by the Gadsden City Council last June.  Gadsden now joins 26 other communities throughout Alabama that are leading the way in protecting citizens from the dangers of secondhand smoke.
