Local student-athletes named 2015 Bryant-Jordan regional winners

Three area student-athletes were among 104 regional winners of the 2015 Bryant-Jordan Student-Athlete scholarship awards.
Glencoe High School’s Hope Bishop was named the Class 3A Region 6 Achievement winner, Westbrook Christian’s Ali Porter was selected as Class 3A Region 6 Scholar-Athlete winner and Southside’s Lindsey Hindsman was chosen as the Class 6A Region 7 Scholar-Athlete winner.

Collinsville’s Roberts signs with Gadsden State

Being a southpaw is something Collinsville High senior softball player Jamie Roberts has been used to all her life.
It’s also something she’s used to her advantage.
Last year, Roberts wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers from the plate. She batted .552 with 10 home runs, seven doubles, a triple, 33 runs and 49 RBIs.
