Small Business Saturday to be held Nov. 28

On November 28, small businesses around Etowah County are participating in Small Business Saturday. The promotion of smaller and locally owned businesses, will take place the day after Black Friday. 

Small Business Saturday offers deals, like those found on Black Friday, but often without the stress of beating the crowds at big box stores.

United Way to hold Thanksgiving Celebration

On Thursday, November 26 or Thanksgiving Day, United Way is hosting the CommUnity Thanksgiving Celebration at Gadsden Convention Hall. 

People can acquire food in one of three ways. They can dine-in, carry-out or have it delivered. Dine-in will start at 10:30 a.m. Carry-out will begin at 11 a.m., though people picking up more than five plates

Goal Foundation to host fundraiser

GOAL Foundation is hosting a fundraiser on November 20 at Back Forty Beer Company located in downtown Gadsden. The event starts at 7 p.m.

To raise money for the foundation, several specialty items will be auctioned, including a shirt signed by Cristiano Ronaldo, a soccer ball signed by David Beckham,  an autographed Manchester United soccer ball
