Gadsden City gridders sign scholarships

Five Gadsden City High seniors will compete on the gridiron for the next four years.
Quarterback Ahmad DeRamus (Tuskegee), offensive lineman Jamahl Jelks (Tennessee State), receiver Darnell Mooney (Tulane), receiver Denzel Mooney (Miles College) and receiver Jalen Swain (Miles College) signed letters of intent on Wednesday (Feb. 3) on National Signing Day.

As the daughter and granddaughter of soccer coaches, Bailee Martin was very likely practicing corner kicks before she learned how to tie her shoelaces.
That early exposure to the sport paid off handsomely for the Gadsden City High senior on Monday (Feb. 1) when she signed a scholarship with the University of West Alabama in Livingston.
