Area players recognized in AHSAA Prep Football Spotlight

Several local football players were recognized in the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s Prep Spotlight for the Week of Sept. 15.
Coosa Christian’s Clete O’Bryant finished with 288 combined yards and six touchdowns in the Conquerors’ 48-0 win over previously undefeated Decatur Heritage. He caught seven passes for 152 yards for a 21.7-yard average and two touchdowns, returned a punt 68 yards for a touchdown and ran back a kickoff 60 yards. Defensively, O’Bryant had 10 tackles, including six for a loss, and recovered a fumble. The Coosa defense limited the Eagles to 91 yards of offense while causing five turnovers, there of them on fumble recoveries.
Gadsden City’s T.J. Worthy finished with 171 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries in the Titans’ 63-41 victory over Fort Payne. He also caught a 34-yard touchdown pass.
Westbrook Christian’s Greyson Carroll finished with 273 combined yards and five touchdowns in the Warriors’ 56-34 win over Glencoe.
Coosa Christian’s John David Justus was 14 for 18 in passing for 225 yards and two touchdowns in the Conquerors’ 48-0 win over Decatur Heritage. He also had six carries for 37 yards and two TDs.
Westbrook Christian’s Brody Blevins had 11 tackles and an interception in the Warriors’ 56-34 win over Glencoe
Glencoe’s Aaron Mann rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries in the Yellow Jackets’ 56-34 loss to Westbrook Christian.
Glencoe’s Jayden Patton had seven receptions for 166 yards and two touchdowns in the Yellow Jackets’ 56-34 loss to Westbrook Christian.
