Lions leap past Columbia

Sardis posted a 42-8 victory over Columbia on Sept. 22 in Huntsville.
For the Lions (3-1, 0-1), Blaze Gerhart (pictured above right) finished with 200 combined yards. He rushed 18 times for 135 yards and a touchdown and had five receptions for 65 yards and a TD. He also scored a two-point conversion run. Levi Martin rushed for 41 yards and two TDs on five carries.
Brian Chapman was 20 for 26 in passing for 195 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed six times for 30 yards. Eli Morton caught six passes for 48 yards and caught a two-point conversion pass. Conner Lowery had four receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown, while Carson Gillilan
caught four passes for 41 yards and had a two-point conversion catch.
Martin led the way defensively with 10 tackles and two pass break-ups. He also returned a fumble 40 yards for a touchdown.
Sardis welcomes A.P. Brewer on Friday, Sept. 29 in the Lion’s homecoming game.
