Conquerors shut down Falkville, 42-0

Coosa Christian improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the Class 2A Region 6 standings with a 42-0 win over Falkville on Friday, Sept. 13 at Falkville.
The Coosa defense limited Falkville to only 11 yards and three first downs. The Blue Devils (1-2, 1-1) were held to 1 for 16 combined on third and fourth down conversion attempts. The Conquerors came up with six sacks, two interceptions and forced four fumbles, three of which they recovered.
Cade Mickler had 10 tackles, followed by Zayden Franklin (No. 55 pictured above) and Radley Mays with eight each, Joseph East with 6.5, Mostella, Motes and Clete O’Bryant with six each, Johnson with 5.5 and Hayden Pearce and Halen Palmer with five each. Six of Mays’ stops were for a loss. Mays and Franklin both had 2.5 sacks, while Palmer and Dylan Edwards each had an interception.
On offense, Kyle Johnson rushed twice for 55 yards and a touchdown, Kanon Wilson gained 36 yards on six carries and Jalan Allen ran six times for 28 yards.
John David Justus was 5 for 12 in passing for 46 yards. Eli Motes had two receptions for 29 yards.
L.J. Mostella ran back a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown, while Jorge Cantellano was 6-for-6 on extra points.
Coosa travels to Susan Moore on Friday, Sept. 20 in region action.
