Two disappointed teams meet tonight (Nov. 1) in Rainbow City, and both squads have reasons to win.
Hokes Bluff wants to get rid of the zero on its record, while Westbrook wants to triumph on Senior Night.
“We’ve had three big games in a row,” Warriors coach Tony Osborne said. “But this is Senior Night, and I know our seniors want to go out on a win.
“It’s not too often that we go to the 10th game and know it’s our last, but that’s the case this year, and we’ve got to deal with it.”
Hokes Bluff would like nothing better than for its seniors to go out on a win, too.
“I know (Westbrook) will be fired up for Senior Night,” Eagles coach Mike Robertson said. “But we’re going to go in and do our best to pull out a win. I hope we’re competitive to the end and can find a way to win.”
Last week against North Sand Mountain, Will Appleton finished 11-of-25 in passing for 215 yards and touchdown. He also had 25 rushing yards and a score on six carries.
Last week against Cherokee County, Chase Beggs rushed 17 times for 90 yards.
Cole Williams completed 7-of-13 passes for 64 yards, while Phillip Ward had four receptions for 37 yards.
