All-Etowah County football team announced

Class 3A state semifinalist Glencoe is well represented on the 2014 All-Etowah County football team with 12 players selected. 

Glencoe senior quarterback Dylan Stone was named Most Valuable Player after finishing with a combined 3,000 offensive yards and 40 touchdowns. Stone rushed for 1,982 yards and 27 TDs and threw for another 1,134 yards and 10 scores to lead an offense that averaged over 40 points per game.

Glencoe senior running back Thomas Ozmint was selected Offensive Player of the Year after amassing 3,800 all-purpose yards and 30 touchdowns. He rushed for 2347 yards and 30 touchdowns while adding 450 yards receiving and returns.

Glencoe senior linebacker Mason Brown and Gaston senior linebacker Javonte Pope shared the Co-Defensive Players of the Year award. Brown led the Yellow Jackets with 141 tackles, including 19 for a loss, and nine quarterback sacks. He also recorded an interception. Pope led the Bulldogs with 142 tackles, eight sacks, five tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one recovered fumble. 

Southside senior Holt Keeling earned the All-Around Athlete of the Year award after rushing for 1476 yards and 16 touchdowns on 128 carries and catching 12 passes for 345 yards and five TDs. He also had 31 punt returns for 521 yards and a touchdown and ran back 17 kickoff returns for 536 yards and two scores. On defense, Keeling recorded 37 tackles along with four interceptions. 

In his ninth season at Glencoe, Coach of the Year Lee Ozmint led the Yellow Jackets to the Class 3A state semifinals, a 13-1 record, a region title and an undefeated regular season.
