Winning pitcher Brady Kitchens limited the Eagle lineup to three hits and five walks over seven innings. He struck out eight. He helped his cause by going 2-for-4 with a double. Also for the Yellow Jackets (7-12), Aiden Johnson went 2-or-2 with an RBI and a run scored, while Trent Rowell went 2-for-4. For Hokes Bluff, Glavine Lamberth went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Class 1A No. 9 Coosa Christian built an early seven run lead and cruised to a 10-0 victory in six innings over Gaylesville last Tuesday (Apr. 11) in Gadsden. For the Conquerors, John David Justus went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, two RBI and two runs scored; Brody Nelson went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored; Thomas Skaggs had a, RBI double and a run scored; Renn Gladden had a two-run double and a run scored and Blaine West had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. In five innings, winning pitcher Clete O’Bryant scattered four hits and one walk while striking out 10.

Hugh Windle’s complete-game three-hitter to lead Class 3A No. 4 Westbrook past Area 1i rival Ohatchee, 8-1, last Tuesday (Apr. 11) in Rainbow City. In seven innings, Windle did not allow an earned run or a walk while fanning eight. At the plate for the Warriors (16-5), Dalton Grace went 2-for-2 with a two RBI; Brady Carden went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored; Caleb McCarty went 2-for-4 with a run scored and Jacob Maples had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Sardis improved to 19-5 with a 7-6 win over Class 5A Area 12 rival Boaz last Tuesday (Apr. 11). For the third ranked Lions, Andrew Felter went 2-for-4 with a home run, an RBI and two runs scored; Levi Martin went 2-for-4 with two runs scored; Carson Gilliln went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored; Russ Wiggs had a an RBI double and two runs scored and Luke Weems had two RBI.

Coosa Christian jumped out to a 10-0 lead and weathered a late J.B. Pennington rally on the way to a 10-8 victory last Monday (Apr. 10) in Gadsden. For the Class 1A No. 9 Conquerors, Blaine West went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored; Keith Johnson went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI; Brody Nelson went 2-or-3 with a double and four runs scored; Dylan Edwards went 2-for-3 with two runs scored; Thomas Skaggs went 2-for-3 and John David Justus had a hit, three RBI and a run scored.

Trailing 10-4 to Gaston after five innings, Gaylesville scored nine runs over the last tow innings on the way to a 13-12 win last Monday (Apr. 10).
