Southside 12, Lawrence County 4
Southside scored seven runs over the final two innings on the way to a 12-4 win over Lawrence County on Saturday, March 16 at Oneonta. For the Panthers (13-6), Corbin Driskell went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored; Kutter Johnson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored; Trey Frachiseur had a hit, two RBI and two runs scored; Carson McGraw had a hit and two RBI and Cayden McMichael had a hit, and RBI and two runs scored. In five innings, winning pitcher Eli Stewart scattered eight hits, three earned runs and two walks while fanning four.
Southside 10, Oneonta 0
Ethan Sarratt tossed a three-hitter to lead Southside to a 10-0 shutout over Oneonta on Saturday, March 16. In five innings, Sarratt did not allow a run or a walk while fanning two. At the plate for Southside, Trey Frachiseur went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, while Cayden McMichael went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Jordan Wood had a three-run triple, while Corbin Driskell had a two-run double.
Westbrook Christian 3, Springville 1
Brady Carden’s score off an error in the bottom of the sixth held up as the winning run in Westbrook Christian’s 3-1 victory over Springville on Saturday, March 16 in Rainbow City. Will Chadwick doubled in Carden later in the inning to provide some insurance. Jacob Maples (pictured above) went 2-for-3 for the Warriors (9-6). Emmett Daniel earned win in relief, allowing three hits, no runs and no walks with five strikeouts.
Hokes Bluff 4, Cherokee County 3
Brodie Brogdon’s two-out walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning gave Hokes Bluff a 4-3 victory over Cherokee County on Saturday, March 16. Bryce Whitaker went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored for the Eagles (8-5), while Logan Wiemann went 2-for-3 with a run scored and Brayson Hayes had a two-run double.
Etowah 3, Benjamin Russell 2
Cash Hayes score off an error in the top of the eighth inning held up as the winning run in Etowah’s 3-2 win over Benjamin Russell on Saturday. March 16 in Alexander City. Slade St. Clair went 2-for-3 for the Blue Devils (9-9), while Jameson Scissum and Damon Devine each had a hit and an RBI.
Ashville 13, Harding (Tenn.) Academy 7
Ashville improved to 8-7 with a 13-7 victory over Harding (Tenn.) Academy, on Saturday, March 16 at AHS. For the Bulldogs, Dylan Palmer went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored; Easton Layfield went 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored; Trevor Wicks had a two-run double and three runs scored; and Parker Cross had a two-run single. Layfield earned the win in five innings of work, allowing seven hits, four earned runs and two walks while striking out eight.

Sardis 14, Westbrook Christian 4
Sardis pounded out 14 hits, including eight for extra bases, in a 51-4 win over Westbrook Christian on Thursday, March 14 in Sardis City. For the Lions, Blaze Gerhart went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, an RBI and a runs scored; Carson Gillilan went 2-for-4 with a home run, for RBI and a run scored; Trey Thornton went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored; Russ Wiggs went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored; Brian Chapman had a three-run home run and two runs scored; and Conner Lowery had a three-run single and a run scored. Lowery went the distance for the win, scattering seven hits, two earned runs and two walks while striking out four. For the Warriors, Dylan Rainey went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, while Brady Carden went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI.
Hokes Bluff 8, Jacksonville 1
Helped by a big day at the plate for Brayson Hayes and a standout pitching performance by Glavine Lamberth, Hokes Bluff coasted to an 8-1 win over Jacksonville on Thursday, March 14.
Hayes went 4-for-4 with a home run, two double, five RBI and two runs scored. In seven innings, Lamberth scattered three hits and one run while striking out 11. He did not issue a walk. Lamberth helped his cause by going 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored. Also for the Eagles (7-5), Anderson Morgan went 2-for-4 with three runs scored.
Ashville 14, West End 1
A 13-strikeout performance by Drew Layfield propelled Ashville to a 13-1 victory over West End on Thursday, March 14 in Walnut Grove. In six innings, Layfield scattered seven hits while not allowing an earned run or issuing a walk. He helped his cause by going 3-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored. Also for the Bulldogs (7-7), Dylan Palmer went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, three RBI and three runs scored; Easton Layfield went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored; and Trevor Wicks had a hit, two RBI and two runs scored.
Alexandria 8, Etowah 6
A three-run seventh inning was not enough for Etowah against Alexandria on Thursday, March 14, as the Blue Devils fell by a score of 8-6. For Etowah, Jameson Scissum went 3-for-4 with a triple and six RBI. Cash Hayes went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while Christian Morrison went 1-for-2 with two runs scored.
Gaston 14, Cedar Bluff 9
Gaston racked up 15 hits on the way to a 14-9 victory over Cedar Bluff on Thursday, March 14. For the Bulldogs (5-5), Luke Hollingsworth went 3-for-4 with three runs scored; Jayce Stephens went 3-fop-4 with two RBI and three runs scored; Conner Humphrey went 3-for-4 with three RBI; Colt Nelson went 2-for-5 with two RBI; and Ezekiel Voytek went 2-for-5 with two runs scored.
Glencoe 12, Spring Garden 11
Glencoe held off Spring Garden, 12-11, on Thursday, March 14. For the Yellow Jackets (9-8), Trent Rowell went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored; Austin Mann went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored; Braylen Smith went 2-for-3 with two runs scored; Jace White went 2-for-3 with a run scored; Brady Kitchens had an RBI triple and Daniel Borntrager had a two-RBI double.

Sardis 9, Hokes Bluff 5
Landon Carroll’s grand slam in the fourth inning proved to be the difference in Sardis’ 9-5 victory over Hokes Bluff on Tuesday, March 12.
With the score tied 3-3, Carroll sent a 1-2 offering over the rightfield wall to give the Lions the lead for good. Carroll went 2-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored.
Also for Sardis (7-4), Levi Martin went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Russ Wiggs went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored and Blaze Gerhart had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. In six innings, winning pitcher Brandon Hammonds scattered five hits, two walks and no earned runs with one strikeout.
For the Eagles, Brayson Hayes went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, four RBI and a run scored, while Glavine Lamberth had a double, an RBI and two runs scored.
Ashville 5, Coosa Christian 2
Dylan Palmer’s three-run tripled in the third inning broke a 2-2 tie and pushed Ashville past Coosa Christian, 5-2, on Tuesday, March 12. Palmer finished with a hit, two RBI and a run scored. Also for the Bulldogs, Easton Layfield went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Layfield was also the winning pitcher, allowing two earned runs, one walk and three hits while striking out seven. Brody Nelson, Brysen Roberts and Bryan Johnson each had a hit for the Conquerors.
Gaston 8, Cedar Bluff 7
Gaston withstood a late Cedar Bluff rally to post an 8-7 victory on Tuesday, March 12.
With the bases loaded and one out, Gaston relief pitcher Conner Humphrey induced two straight groundouts to secure the win. For Gaston, Easton Albert went 2-for-3, while Luke Hollingsworth had a hit and two runs scored.

Hokes Bluff 3, Model (Ga.) 1
Glavine Lamberth and Anderson Morgan both hit a home run in Hokes Bluff’s 3-1 win over Model, Ga., on Monday, Mar. 11. For the Eagles, Brayson Hayes went 2-for-3 with two doubles, Anderson Morgan had a home run, an RBI and two runs scored; and Lamberth had a home run, an RBI and a run scored. In four innings, winning pitcher Brodie Brogdon scattered one run and one walk while striking out four.
Glencoe 8, Ragland 3
Jayden Patton’s bases-clearing triple in the sixth inning keyed Glencoe to an 8-3 victory over Ragland on Monday, March 11. Also for the Yellow Jackets, Aiden Johnson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while Jordan Haney went 2-for-2. Johnson was the winning pitcher, scattering five hits, one earned run and three walks while fanning six.
Ashville 15, Locust Fork 2
A seven-run sixth innings and standout pitching effort from Jaden Harris propelled Ashville to a 15-2 win over Locust Fork on Monday, March 11. In six innings, Harris allowed one earned run and five walks while fanning 11. He helped his cause with a hit, two RBI and two runs scored. Also for the Bulldogs (6-7), Dylan Palmer went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored; Parker Cross went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored; Drew Layfield had a hit, an RBI and three runs scored; and Justin Henderson had two RBI and three runs scored.

Etowah 9, Biloxi (Miss.) 4; Etowah 7, Canton (Miss.) Academy 1; Etowah 12, D’Iberville (Miss.) 3; Columbia (Tenn.) Academy 13, Etowah 4
Etowah went 4-1 at the Mississippi Gulf Classic this past week.
On Monday, March 11, the Blue Devils defeated Biloxi, 9-4. For Etowah, Conner Dingler went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored; Jameson Scissum went 2-for-3 with two runs scored; Slade St. Clair went 2-for-4 with two runs scored; and Damon Devine went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Devine earned the win on the mound, scattering five hits, four runs and five walks while striking out 10.
On Tuesday, March 12, the Blue Devils beat Canton (Miss.), 7-1. Tracy Gaddis twirled a three-hitter through six innings, allowing one run and three walks while fanning eight. Bennett Reaves went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored; Devine had a hit, an RBI and a run scored; Dingler had two RBI and St. Clair had two runs scored.
Also on March 12, Etowah four runs in the first, third and fourth innings en route to a 12-3 win over D’Iberville. Christian Morrison went 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored; Devine went 2-for-2 with three RBI and a run scored; St. Clair and Dingler each had a hit, an RBI and a run scored; and Brodie Bennett had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. In four innings, winning pitcher Landon Ward scattered seven hits, three runs and five walks with five strikeouts.
On Wednesday, March 13, the Blue Devils fell to Columbia (Tenn.) Academy 13-4. Dingler had a hit, two RBI and two runs scored, while Gaddis and Devine both had a hit.

Gadsden City 20, Ashville 3
A 13-run third inning helped push Gadsden City to a 20-3 win over Ashville on Saturday, March 9 at GCHS. For the Titans, Jackson Garner went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored; Gabriel Brito went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored; Adrian Vargas went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI; Andy Swafford had a three-run single and a run scored; Tristin Scott had a hit, an RBI and three runs scored; and Matthew Sparks had an RBI and three runs scored. Vargas earned the win on the mound, allowing two hits, two earned runs and four walks with four strikeouts in five innings.
