Four local players were nominated for the Alabama High School Athletic Association Prep Spotlight for the week of Oct. 21.
Gadsden City’s Damon Williams rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries as the Titans beat Huntsville, 48-21. Teammate Ryan Sparks completed 8-of-13 passes for 148 yards and three touchdowns.
West End’s Payne Stancil threw five touchdown passes as the Patriots rolled past Winston County, 73-28 to earn a playoff spot. Teammate Jordan Malin rushed for three scores on the night.
