Area runners finish in top 10 at Holiday Invitational track meet

One local runner medaled and several others posted top 10 finishers at the Holiday Invitational indoor track and field meet on Dec. 9 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Gadsden City’s Kyla Price (pictured above) took home the bronze in the girls 400-meter dash with a time of 59.49. Teammate Karleigh Sheffield placed eighth in the girls 60-meter dash at 7.98.
Ashville’s Taylor Knight came in ninth in both the girls 1600-meter run (5:47.42) and 3200-meter run (12:54.89).
The Ashville boys 4×400-meter relay team of Kanyon White, Maddox Vann, Coby Caswell and Ryan Matthews finished ninth at 3:49.91, while the Bulldogs’ 4×800 meter relay team of Maddox Vann, Coby Caswell, Drew Gargone and Ryan Matthews placed 10th at 9:36.79.
