Area runners solid at Chickasaw Trails 5K

A pair of local runners turned in fine performances at the Chickasaw Trails Invitational 5K on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Indian Mounds Park in Oakville.
In the boys’ large varsity race, Southside’s Evan Christopher finished eight out of 227 runners with a time of 15:47.44. Christopher is currently ranked fourth in Class 6A.
In the girls’ small varsity run, West End’s Karlee Tarpley placed 27th out of 222 participants with a time of 21:57.94.
