Ashville’s Knight named to North 5K team

Ashville High junior Wyatt Knight was one of 10 runners across the state recently named to the North roster for the AHSAA North/South All-State cross country run this July in Montgomery.
With a time of 17:25.33, Knight (pictured above) finished sixth out of 163 runners at the Class 4A state cross country meet last November. He helped the Bulldogs take second place at the Class 4A Section 3 meet with a third-place time of 17:39.67. Knight’s current 5K PR is 16:26.33, set at the Fairview Invitational in September, where he finished first. He also won the St. Clair County Invitational and finished runner-up at the Wildcat Twilight Run. He took third place in the 1600-meter run at the AHSAA Class 4A Indoor Track & Field Meet in January.
Joining Knight on the North squad are David Haskins of Westminster-Oak Mountain, Trey Hurt of Florence, Steele Joiner of Lawrence County, Jack Lowe of Pell City, Jack Nichols of Altamont, Mitchell Phillips of Hewitt-Trussville, Keegan Verble of Grissom, Nick Wood of Cullman and Henry Woodall of Lindsay Lane Christian.
