Logan Carr and Bryce Whitaker each scored 20 points to lead Hokes Bluff to a 59-51 win over Ashville on Thursday, Dec. 12 at HBHS. Carr (pictured below) shot 4-for-7 (57 percent) from the three-point line, while Whitaker grabbed five rebounds. Also for the Eagles, Noah Johnson contributed 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Anderson Morgan collected four points, seven assists and five rebounds and Anthony Gooch chipped in five points and five rebounds. J.B. Potter led the way for the Bulldogs with 25 points, 11 rebounds, seven deflections and three assists. Dalton-Rice Thompson finished with 11 points, three rebounds, three steals and three deflections.
Coosa Christian improved to 4-0 with a 50-41 win over Pleasant Valley on Thursday, Dec. 12 in Gadsden. Kylen scored 18 points for the Conquerors, followed by D.J. Mackey with eight and Jaxon Peek with six.
Six players scored in double figures in Coosa Christian’s 80-10 victory over Cullman Christian on Tuesday, Dec. 10 in Gadsden. D.J. Mackey paced the Conquerors with 14 points, followed by Kylen Johnson, Jaxon Peek and L.J. Mostella with 11 each; Jaylen Jones and Grayson Malone with 10 each; Eli Motes and J’Alan Terry with five each and Samuel Reeves with three.
Titus Jones finished with 19 points, six rebounds, four steals and four assists and Bo Kilgo contributed 15 points, four rebounds and four assists in Westbrook Christian’s 66-58 Class 3A Area 12 win over Ohatchee on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Also for the Warriors (4-2, 1-0), Brodey Wood had nine points, five rebounds and three assists; Brady Carden had five points, eight rebounds and two assists and Maximus Jones had four points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Glencoe improved to 9-3 on the season with a 69-62 victory over Alexandria on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Garrett Morgan paced the Yellow Jackets with 18 points, followed by Jayden Patton with 15, Wade Segrest with 13, Grant Smith with 11 and Bryce Borntrager with nine.

Both Johnson and Carr knocked down three 3-point baskets, with Johnson adding seven deflections and three steals. Bryce Whitaker added 12 points, while Drew McCarver finished with eight points and five rebounds. Ronan McFadden chipped in seven points, while Anderson Morgan contributed four points and six assists. Devon Green paced the Bulldogs with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds. Mica Merriman and Kodie Bogle both scored 15 points, with Bogle grabbing four rebounds and Merriman distributing three assists.
Grant Smith scored a game-high 23 points to lead Glencoe to a 48-42 win over Southside on Monday, Dec. 9. Davis Honeycutt added 13 points for the Yellow Jackets, while Jayden patton and Bryce Borntrager both added four. Cayden Reason paced the Panthers with 14 points, followed by Mason Stephens with 12 and Drew Clark with 11.
Glencoe outscored Hokes Bluff 16-7 in the second overtime to pull out an 88-79 victory on Friday, Dec. 7 at Glencoe. The Eagles led 27-17 after one period, 44-37 at halftime and 53-51 after three quarters. The Yellow Jackets held a 16-14 scoring advantage in the fourth period to force the first overtime, which ended in a 5-5 tie.
Glencoe finished with an 11 to 4 advantage in second chance points and out-rebounded Hokes Bluff by a 42-34 margin.
For the Yellow Jackets, Grant Smith scored 29 points along with 19 rebounds. Garrett Morgan ended up with 28 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three deflections, while Wade Segrest had 19 points and 11 assists. Bryce Borntrager chipped in seven points, while Jayden Patton added five.
For the Eagles, Noah Johnson shot 55 percent (5-for-9) from the three-point line on the way to 25 points. He also had seven rebounds and three assists. Ronan McFadden sank four three-point baskets en route 17 points, while Bryce Whitaker finished with 13 points, five rebounds and three steals. Drew McCarver contributed eight points, five rebounds and four deflections;
Anthony Gooch had six points, four assists and three steals; and Anderson Morgan had six points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
Oneonta edged Westbrook, 52-50, on Friday, Dec. 6. For the Warriors (3-2), Brady Carden finished with a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds along with two steals, one block and one assist. Bo Kilgo contributed 12 points four steals, two rebounds and two assists, while Titus Jones added six points, five assists, two rebounds and two steals.
A 27-7 third quarter run sparked Ashville to a 75-50 win over Jacksonville on Friday, Dec. 6. J.B. Potter paced the Bulldogs with 19 points, followed by Dalton-Rice Thompson with 16, Parker Smith with 14, Jamon Williams with nine and Brayden Daniels and Nate Huckbay with five each. Smith grabbed nine rebounds, followed by Potter and Daniels with five each and Huckbay with four. Potter distributed four assists, while Williams came up with three steals.
Ashville fell to Alexandria, 74-60, on Thursday, Dec. 5. J.J. Potter finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Dalton Rice-Thompson scored 14 points, followed by Dylan Palmer with eight and Maise Thompson with five. Brayden Daniels pulled down six rebounds, while Jamon Williams cleared four.
Kylen Johnson scored 24 points to help Coosa Christian post a 79-54 victory over West End on Tuesday, Dec. 3 in Walnut Grove. The Conquerors (2-0) jumped out to a 28-6 first quarter lead and finished the fourth quarter with a 30-13 run. Jaxon Peek added 17 points for Coosa, while Jaylen Jones chipped in 14.

Hokes Bluff improved to 6-1 on the season with a 66-42 win over Saks on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Hokes Bluff. Five players scored in double figures for the Eagles, led by Anthony Gooch and Ronan McFadden with 14 each. Bryce Whitaker added 11 points, followed by Logan Carr and Drew McCarver with 10 each. McCarver grabbed nine rebounds, followed by McFadden with seven and Whitaker and Anderson Morgan with four each. Morgan also distributed eight assists, while McCarver had five and McFadden four. Gooch had four deflections.
Mason Stephens’ double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds helped Southside post a 45-33 victory over Etowah on Monday, Dec. 2 in Attalla. Drew Clark finished with 12 points and six rebounds for the Panthers (6-2), while Cayden Reason contributed 11 Points and nine boards.
