Bulldogs shut out Asbury

Gaston posted its first shutout since the 2017 season with a 32-0 win over Asbury on Friday, Aug. 23 at Cap’n Bill Boyd Stadium.
For the Bulldogs, Chapman Clay was 11 for 16 in passing for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
Kodie Bogle had four catches for 38 yards and a touchdown, while Adonis Jones had three receptions for 70 yards. Devon Green caught two passes 19 yards and a touchdown, while Conner Humphrey and Noah Cohen each had one catch.
Nate Oliver (pictured above) paced Gaston on the ground with five rushes for 43 yards.
Defensively, Bogle finished with 12 tackles, including two for a loss, and blocked a punt.
Trey Johnson had 10 tackles with three for a loss, while Conner Humphrey had nine stops.
Humphrey and Devon Green both returned a punt for a touchdown.
Gaston has an open date this week before hosting Cedar Bluff on Sept. 6.
