Conquerors kick off region play with win over Southeastern

Coosa Christian opened up its Class 2A Region 6 schedule on Friday, Sept. 6 with a 42-7 win over Southeastern in Gadsden.
For the Conquerors (2-1), Kanon Wilson rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, while Jalan Terry carried four times for 64 yards and one TD.
John David Justus was 10 for 21 in passing for 175 yards and two touchdowns.
Dylan Edwards had three receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown, while Kylen Johnson caught two passes for 82 yards and a score. L.J. Mostella had two receptions for 35 yards.
Jorge Cantellano was 6-for-6 on extra point attempts.
The Coosa defense allowed 226 yards, including only 59 passing. The Conquerors also held on four fourth down conversion attempts by the Mustangs. Clete O’Bryant finished with14 tackles, followed by Cade Mickler and Hayden Pearce with 10.5 each, Halen Palmer with seven, Zayden Franklin with six and L.J. Mostella with five.
The Conquerors continue region play on Friday, Sept. 13 at Falkville.
