Coosa Christian and Woodville played to a scoreless draw
deep into the fourth quarter until the Conquerors scored on a fourth-and-goal
play with just under five minutes to go for a 7-0 win in Class 1A, Region 7
action.

In a game dominated by running plays, a pass turned out to
be one of the game’s biggest moments.

Facing a third-and-three from Woodville’s 43-yard line,
Coosa quarterback Ben Mills competed a 37-yard pass to Micah Mills. The
Conquerors (3-6, 2-6) scored four plays later when Ben Mills sneaked it in from
a yard out on fourth-and-goal with 4:41 remaining. Austin Mills’ PAT gave Coosa
Christian a 7-0 lead.

Woodville (0-9, 0-8) didn’t get a first down on its ensuing
possession, and the Conquerors cranked out two first downs thanks to a 14-yard
run by Austin Mills and 15-yarder from Ben Mills to run out the clock.

Woodville finished with 156 total yards while Coosa
Christian had 181.

Austin Mills led Coosa Christian with 95 yards on 17
carries, while Ben Mills had 63 yards on 16 attempts.

Ben Mills had 17 tackles, followed by Noah Williamson with
12, Seth Williamson with 11, Matt Aldridge and Caleb Sanderson with eight each
and Austin Mills with seven.

Coosa Christian closes out its season on Friday at home
against Southeastern.
