Curtis Jewel Moore

The late Mr. Curtis Jewel Moore was born July 4, 1939, in Gadsden, Alabama, to the
parents of the late Willie Lee Moore and Cordie Harrison.
He accepted Christ at an early age after joining Galilee Baptist Church. He served
many years as a faithful employee of the Gadsden State Community College as their
custodial engineer. He also worked as a security guard for the First Baptist Church of
Gadsden. Curtis enjoyed spending time with his family, watching westerns, fishing, and
talking with neighbors.
On Aug. 22, 1956, he was united in holy matrimony to his best friend, Mrs. Jeanette
Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee Moore and Cordie Harrison. His
devoted wife, Mrs. Jeanette Moore, His loving daughters, Linda Dupree, Loretta
Crews, and Dianne Brookins Williams. His siblings, Harrison Williams, Willie Ruth
Mosely, and Mary Lee Mines. Grandson, Corneilus Turner and great-grandson
Kenelius Moore.
On Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, he departed here on earth to his new residence in
glory.
He leaves to cherish his memories his five sons, Mr. Curtis Moore Jr., Mr. Willie Moore,
Mr. Michael (Juanita) Moore, Mr. Antonio Moore and Mr. Gerald Moore; one daughter
Mrs. Evvie (Don) Brewster Timmons; 24 grandchildren, Daryl Moore, Meshonda
(Tyson) Burwell, Tamara McGahee, Latrece(Michael) Coleman, Jamea (Sidney) Taylor,
Antron Brookins, Christopher Brookins, Greg (Aquita) Crews, Chastity (Tracey) Crook,
April May Morris, Cornelius Moore, Minika and Monica Moore, Antonia Boyd, Shantel
Underwood, Rashad Underwood, Galen Moore, Latangy Borden, Karmya Jones,
Gabriel Griffin, Justin and Justice Brewster; 39 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-
grandchildren. Special grandsons, Rashad Underwood and Antron Brookins; Special
sons-in-law Mr. Greg Crews and Mr. Edward Brookins. Special friend and longtime
neighbor, Mr. Willie “Toson” Coleman and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
