    Same old Fyffe.

Undefeated. Leading the region race. Nothing different.

“They still line up in that Wing-T and just run it right at you,” Gaston coach Josh Averett said of the third-ranked Red Devils.

“They’ve done the same things for so long that everybody knows what they’re going to run. But they’re so good at it that you can’t stop them anyway.”

Averett acknowledged that it takes an almost perfect game to beat the Red Devils and they’re not going to do you any favors with turnovers.

“In that offense, they keep the ball and run down the clock,” he said. “On defense, they keep it in front, make the tackle early and don’t let you get behind them often.”

Fyffe has scored less than 30 points in only one game this season and has given up more than two touchdowns once.
