Eagles blank White Plains, Yellow Jackets fall to Randolph County

Helped by Darrian Meadds’ 150 rushing yards, Hokes Bluff gained its first win of the season with a 41-0 shutout of Class 4A, Region 5 rival White Plains last Friday (Sept. 16) at WPHS.
Meads also scored three touchdowns on his 12 carries.
Fisher Simmons scored a pair of touchdowns for the Eagles (1-3, 1-2), including one on a 45-yard punt return.
Landon Johnson and Zack Allem also scored for Hokes Bluff.
The Eagles host Etowah County neighbor Glencoe this week in a non-region game.

Glencoe fell to Randolph County, 20-7 last Friday (Sept. 16) in Class 3A, Region 6 action in Wedowee.
For the Yellow Jackets (2-2, 0-2), Austin Bush rushed for 51 yards on 10 carries, while Cole Holbroooks ran 11 times for 45 yards.
Holbrooks was 7-for-20 in passing for 55 yards and a touchdown.
Aaron Bush had three receptions for 41 yards and a score.
Bradley Scott had 16 tackles for the Yellow Jackets, followed by Austin Bush with 11, Noah Huff with nine and Coleman Morris with five. Scott and Morris each had a sack.
