In a clash of playoff-bound teams that were region rivals until the latest reclassification, Gadsden City and Hewitt-Trussville both hope to go into the postseason on a winning note.

The Titans are trying to end their season on a four-game winning streak while the Huskies are attempting to end theirs with three victories in a row.

As the region’s third playoff seed, GCHS travels to Bessemer City on Nov. 8 for a first round game.

Last week against Huntsville, Ahmad Deramus rushed for 170 yards on 17 carries, scored a touchdown on the ground and completed 18-of-23 passes for 124 yards with two more scores.

Editor’s note: Repeated attempts to contact GCHS head football coach Matt Scott were unsuccessful.
