Gadsden State teams, athletes named to NJCAA All-Academic teams

Three Gadsden State athletic programs and a number of individual GSCC student-athletes were recently named to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s All-Academic Team for 2023-44.
Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2023-24 academic year. The criteria for the three NJCAA All-Academic teams are a 4.0 GPA for first team, a 3.80-3.99 GPA for second team and a 3.60-3.79 GPA for third team.
Four Gadsden State teams made the third team: men’s tennis with a 3.42 GPA, women’s cross country with a 3.28, baseball with a 3.24 GPA and volleyball with a 3.21 GPA.
First team (4.0 GPA)
Baseball: Aidan Bee, Andrew Hardy, Brant Stringer, Chris McNeil, Cody Russell, Mason Freeman, Tyler Mays
Women’s basketball: Jaxson Sizemore, Kaitlyn Hill (pictured above), McKayla Bean
Men’s cross country: DeShaun Foster, Travis Cooley
Women’s cross country: Jordan Clark
Men’s tennis: Elisha Sims, John Weaver
Volleyball: Lauren Davis, Sera Beth Potter
Second team
Baseball: Charlie Jones (3.91 ), Hunter Humphries (3.89), Nick Ford (3.81), Robert Templin (3.81).
Men’s basketball: Kolby Battles (3.85).
Men’s tennis: Kamron Palacios (3.9), John David Cunningham (3.8).
Volleyball: Ella Garmany (3.9).
Third team
Baseball: Trent House (3.75), Colton Willmon (3.71), Jonathon Isbell (3.7), Josh Smith (3.69), Blake Hall (3.66), Brandon Fears (3.64), Chase Saul (3.63), Brendon Byrd (3.61).
Women’s basketball: Neely Damron (3.78).
Women’s cross country: Gabrielle More (3.77), Keria Johnson (3.73), McKinley Kay (3.72).
Men’s tennis: Charles McInitre (3.79), Heath Stinson (3.78), Elijah Jones (3.75), Samuel Arnold (3.72).
Volleyball: Ziniah Hardy (3.76).
