Gadsden’s Christmas at the Falls named one of America’s top holiday attractions

The City of Gadsden’s Christmas at the Falls at Noccalula Falls Park has been named one of the Top 100 Most Popular Christmas Light Displays in America.

Mixbook conducted a survey of 3,000 families, and Christmas at the Falls—in addition to being the top Christmas attraction in North Alabama—placed 95th in the country in their list of America’s 150 Most Magical Christmas Light Displays.

“We are blessed to be able to steward and preserve the beautiful Noccalula Falls Park and Campground,” said Mayor Craig Ford. “The beautiful Christmas light displays are the result of months of work and preparation by the park’s talented staff, led Brandon Stephens, who oversees setup of the lights, and Park Director Christina Richardson. They make magic out of thin air and create lifelong memories for everyone who visits Christmas at the Falls.”

Christmas at the Falls features millions of lights throughout Noccalula Falls Park, a mile-long train ride that offers a fantastic view of the displays, activities like visits from Santa, a brand new animal barn and petting zoo facility and more.

“We also must recognize every park visitor because their cost of admission always goes right back into enhancing the park for future visitors to enjoy,” Ford said.

Proceeds from Christmas at the Falls are re-invested into the park and fund improvement projects like the $11 million renovation currently underway at the Noccalula Falls Park Campground.

During an average season, more than 150,000 people come from around Alabama and across the Southeast to enjoy the light displays.

While Christmas at the Falls is Gadsden’s marquee Christmas event, the city’s newest attraction is Christmas on the Coosa.

Christmas on the Coosa, located downtown next to Moragne Park, features ice skating on real ice, food and drink vendors, regular musical entertainment, a spectacular view of the city’s new Christmas tree that stands more than 50 feet tall, and more.

Tickets to Christmas at the Falls are available at noccalulafallspark.com or cityofgadsden.com, and ticket options also include a combo ticket, allowing everyone to save money when visiting both Christmas at the Falls and Christmas on the Coosa.
