Garrett displays scoring touch in Southside win

Southside finished out its Class 6A Region 8 schedule with a 39-14 victory over Hazel Green on Friday, Oct. 25 at Barney Hood Stadium.
As the region’s second seed, the Panthers host Mountain Brook in the first round of the state playoffs on Nov. 8.
Against Hazel Green, Southside (6-3, 5-1) finished with 329 yards of total offense. Jordan Bryan was 9 for 17 in passing for 203 yards and touchdown passes of 44, 47 and 18 yards. He also rushed six times for 53 yards.
Koal Garrett (pictured above at right) rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown on six carries, had two receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown and returned a punt for a touchdown.
Josh Peoples caught two passes for 32 yards and a touchdown, Deegan Garrett had two receptions for 57 yards and C.J. Martin caught a 44-yard touchdown pass.
The Panthers close out the regular season at Pell City on Friday, Nov. 1.
