Gaston thower sets new PR, named Nike All-American

Gaston High rising senior Kodie Bogle set a new PR in the javelin event with a throw of 195 feet and two inches at the Nike Outdoor Junior Nationals on Saturday, June 8 at the University of Oregon. Seeded 18th in the event, Bogle (pictured above) finished sixth overall with a field that included nine college throwers. His previous PR of 190-4 was set last year at the AAU Nationals in Iowa. Bogle, who was named a Nike All-American following his performance in Oregon, is currently ranked second in the Alabama High School javelin ranking and 34th nationally. Last month, he won his third straight Class 2A state javelin championship.
