Glencoe softball, Ashville soccer to host fundraisers

Two area high school athletic programs are hosting benefit fundraisers in the near future.

The Glencoe High School softball team will host cornhole tournaments on Friday, Aug. 7 and Saturday, Aug. 8. Both events will be held at Glencoe City Park on the little league baseball field. Friday’s participation fee is $30 per team. Check-in will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the tournament starting at 7:30 p.m. First place will win $100. Saturday’s participation fee is $40 per team. Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. with the tournament starting at 9 a.m. First place will win $200 and second place $100. Tournament is double elimination with three poll games and a blind draw. All participants receive a tee shirt. Both tournaments are BYOP. To register or more information, call Tommy Stanley at 256-390-0437.

The Ashville High boys and girls soccer teams will host a cornhole tournament on Sunday, August 9 at 4 p.m. at the football stadium. Entry team is $40 per team. There will be a $300 prize for first place and a $100 prize for second place. To register online, visit ashvilleathletics.com.
