You don’t have to wait for Christmas Eve to enjoy cookies and milk with Santa Claus.

Join us for the fifth annual “Snacks With Santa” Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The event is free and sponsored by Downtown Gadsden Inc.

In addition to Santa, the Sugar Plum Fairies of the Downtown Gadsden Dance Conservatory as well as other holiday characters will be there for the event. There will be many photo opportunities so parents are encouraged to bring their cameras.

During “Snacks With Santa,” (10 a.m. to noon) admission to the Hardin Center will be half off and will include Let It Snow, Festival of Trees: Rock and Roll Christmas and Imagination Place Children’s Museum.

“This is a great event that we look forward to every year,” said Tami Brooks of the Hardin Center. ”The kids are always so excited to see Santa and the beautiful ballerinas. It’s a great opportunity for a day of family fun.”

Next door, at the Gadsden Museum of Art kids will be able to make a Christmas ornament between 10 a.m. and noon.

There is no charge for the Christmas ornament program and people are encouraged to view the exhibit “The Sounds of Christmas” while visiting the museum.

On the corner of Fifth and Broad in historic downtown Gadsden sits the unusual building of the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts. The triangular-shaped building is known for the educational opportunities and endless entertainment it brings to the community.
