Hokes Bluff went into halftime up 34-0 on the way to a 48-0 victory over Etowah County neighbor and Class 3A, Region 6 rival Glencoe on September 17 at GHS.
The Eagles (2-2, 2-1) racked up 415 yards of offense, including 356 on the ground, while holding the Yellow Jackets (0-4, 0-3) to 100.
Hokes Bluff opened the scoring at 6:11 of the first quarter on Jordan Bradley’s 25-yard touchdown pass to Will Wellingham. Bradley then ran for a two-yard touchdown run at 3:47, followed by a 27-yard TD run by Noah Sprayberry at 1:23.
Tucker Griffin ran for a pair for scores in the second period, the first from 39 yards out at 10:52 and the second from 46 yards away at 6:54.
The Eagles made it 41-0 midway through the third quarter on Bradley’s 9-yard touchdown run, while Blain Barron’s 25-yard TD run with 5”17 left in the game capped the scoring.
Griffin finished with 139 yards on 11 carries, while Barron added 83 yards on nine attempts. Bradley was 3 for 9 in passing for 59 yards.
For Glencoe, Nolan Fairley as 3 for 3 in passing for 30 yards. Levi Long rushed for 58 yards on 11 carries. Garrett Morgan had five tackles.
