Lady Cardinals fall short at conference tournament

The Gadsden State volleyball team went 1-2 at the Alabama Community College Conference Tournament last weekend in Hanceville.
On Friday (Oct. 28), the Lady Cardinals (16-13) opened the tournament with a 23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 18-25, 16-14 win over Lawson State, then lost to Faulkner State, 25-14, 25-18, 25-11. On Saturday (Oct. 29), Gadsden State fell to Southern Union, 11-25, 14-25, 25-21, 23-25 .
Morgan Newton made the all-tournament first team for Gadsden State, while Courtney Rowe and Tamaria Mays made the second team.
