Lady Cardinals win North Carolina tournament

The Gadsden State Community College volleyball team went 4-0 last weekend to win the North Carolina Bash in Pembroke, N.C.

The Lady Cardinals opened the tournament on Aug. 29 with a 25-17, 25-18, 25-16 sweep of Pittsburg Community College, followed by 25-17, 25-19, 25-18 win over Lake County College. On Aug. 30, GSCC posted a 25-18, 19-25, 25-21, 25-17 victory over Wake Technical, then finished the tournament by defeating Sandhills Community College, 256-21, 25-16, 25-20. 

For the tournament for Gadsden State, J’Nae Fraser had 32 kills, followed by Audrey Hargitt with 29, Emma Easley with 23, Hannah Liverett with 21 and Abbie Mills and Courtney Bolton with 15 each. 

Diamond Dozier handed out 131 assists, while Riley Carter distributed 73.

Chassidy Farmer came up with 87 digs, followed by Fraser with 71, Easley with 51, Kaycee Willingham with 24, Madison Clayton and Amanda Young with 20 each and Anna Sanders with 13.
