Lady Patriots win Wildcat Fall Classic 5K

With three runners placing in the top 10, the West End girls cross country team won the Class 1A-3A division at the Wildcat Fall Classic 5K on Saturday, Oct. 19 in Anniston.
The Lady Patriots edged Sand Rock, 32 to 39, in the 39-runner field.
Karlee Tarpley paced West End with a runner-up time of 22:08.44, followed by Kennedi Nix in fourth place at 22:34.94 and Jada Wright in eighth place at 23:20.52. Kenzli Nix helped the Lady Patriots with a 13th place time of 23:54.83, with Tensley Young right behind at 24:00.36.
Carolina Rainey finished 16th at 24:21.64, followed by Westbrook Christian’s Noel Griffin in 17th place at 24:37.14.
In the boys’ Class 1A-3A race of 70 participants, Westbrook’s Luke Pilotte came in ninth with a time of 19:16.23. West End’s Justin Smith finished 16th at 19:52.20.
