The Gadsden City High girls soccer team clinched its second straight Class 6A Area 13 title with a 4-0 shutout over Oxford on Monday, April 15 at GCHS.
The Lady Titans (9-5-2) opened the scoring in the first half on Avery Parker’s goal off a cross from Fiyinfoluwa Oguntuyo. Gadsden City added to its lead shortly after halftime when Raegan Brooks converted a cross from Oguntuyo. Brooks later scored off an assist from Parker. Oguntuyo completed the scoring off an assist from Evie Millican. Brooks also had six steals, while Millican had two. Ella Jennings and Gwen Rikansrud combined for five saves in goal.
A.K. Ashley had nine steals, followed by Miriam Rasool with eight, Soleil Nuno and Marlie McWhorter with four each and Kaitlyn Calloway with three.
