Lady Warriors shut out Mars Hill in soccer quarterfinals

Alexis Beard scored three goals to lead Westbrook Christian to a 6-0 win over Mars Hill Bible in the Class 1A-3A state soccer quarterfinals last Saturday (May 6) in Florence.
The Lady Warriors (18-6) will play Altamont on Thursday (May 11) at 11:30 a.m. in the semifinal round at the John Hunt Soccer Complex in Huntsville.
Also scoring for Westbrook were Mary Grace Mayfield, Kylee Berndt and Hilary Tran.
Makenna Beard had two assists while Mary Reid Goodwin added one. Mattie Loyd secured the shutout in goal.
The state championship game is set for Friday afternoon in Huntsville.
