The homestanding Glencoe Lady Yellow Jackets defeated Class 3A, Area 9 rival Susan Moore, 58-34, last Tuesday (Dec. 11) at GHS.

Glencoe (6-3, 3-0) raced to a 16-8 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Sally Tinker hit two 3-pointers in the first eight minutes.

The Lady Jackets lead grew to 33-12 at the half and 40-20 at the end of the third period.

Glencoe head coach John Blackwell was happy with his team’s effort.

“We played well on defense and moved the ball well on offense. We had a balanced scoring attack with nine players scoring and we managed to control the momentum of the entire game. Our young girls played well and our seniors started well, so it was a total team effort.”

Sally Tinker scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Glencoe. Hope Gaskin added 10 points, while Maddie Osborne chipped in eight.

Glencoe visits Sardis on Friday for a cross-county match-up.
