Amending Fiscal Year 2022 Budget
WHEREAS, the City of Gadsden applied for and accepted a grant from The Bureau of Justice Assistance Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) in the amount of $50,700.00 for 52 Bulletproof Vests for replacement and new hires over a two-year period.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GADSDEN, ALABAMA, that the General Fund Budget adopted by Ordinance No. O-12-21 (Fiscal Year 2022 Budget), is amended by increasing the following accounts:
#190-8550-422.30-40 in the amount of $50,700.00; account #190-8550-331.05-00 in the amount of $25,350.00; account #190-8550-391.10-00 in the amount of $25,350.00; and account # 001-9520-491.90-29 in the amount of $25,350.00; and by decreasing account #001-8500-422.30-40 in the amount of $25,350.00.

Authorizing TIF Funds for Expenditures
Related to the Expansion of The Venue
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Gadsden adopted Resolution No. R-176-22, awarding Bid No. 3473 to Greer Building Contractors for renovation of The Venue for the Industrial Development Authority Offices, located at 201 George Wallace Drive; and
Whereas, the City Council finds and determines that the use of tax increment district funds for the rehabilitation of this structure is in keeping with the purpose and intent of the tax increment financing law and the project plans previously authorized and adopted.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GADSDEN, ALABAMA, as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance No. O-12-21 (Fiscal Year 2022 Budget), as amended, is further amended, by appropriating $1,438,640.00 to account #191-2500-419.77-63 (The Venue).
Section 2. The Mayor and Director of Finance are authorized to use funds from Tax Increment Financing (TIF) for this expense. These funds are hereby appropriated for such purposes.
