Etowah 11, Ashville 1
Caleb Freeman was strong on the mound and at the plate in Etowah’s 11-1 victory over Ashville on Wednesday, April 7. Freeman earned the win with seven strikeouts in six innings while contributed two hits and two RBI. Trace Thompson and Caleb Smith each had two hits for the Blue Devils, while Caleb Burns had two RBI.
Westbrook Christian 14, Gaston 0
Will Noles’ no-hitter clinched the Class 2A, Area 10 title for Westbrook Christian in a 14-0 win over Gaston last Wednesday (Apr. 7) at Gaston. It was the 14th straight area championship for the Warriors. In five innings, Noles struck out 12 without allowing a walk. He helped his cause by going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Also at the plate for Westbrook (16-6), Fisher Glasgow went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored; Presley White went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored; Samuel Dutton went 2-for-3 with a home run, an RBI and two runs scored; Brodie Self had a home run, two RBI and a run scored; and Eli Grace had a hot and two runs scored.
Westbrook 17, Gaston 0
Samuel Dutton threw a perfect game and his third no hitter of the season in Class 2A No. 2 Westbrook Christian’s 17-0 victory over Gaston in Class 2A, Area 12 action last Tuesday (Apr. 6) in Rainbow City. In five innings, Dutton (pictured above) did not allow a hit or a walk while striking out 13. He helped his cause with a double and three RBI. Also for the Warriors (16-6), Will Noles went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI and three runs scored; Presley White went 2-for-2 with four RBI and three runs scored; Caiden Wyatt went 2-for-3 with a run scored; Cole Patterson had a hit, three RBI and a run scored; and Fisher Glasgow, Micaiah Myers and Eli Grace each had a hit and two runs scored.
West End 14, Southeastern 2
Trevor Willett hit for the cycle while contributed four hits, six RBI and three runs to West End’s five-inning 14-2 victory over Class 2A, Area 11 rival Southeastern last Monday (Apr. 5) in Remlap. Willett went 4-for-4 with a triple in the first, a double in the second, a home run in the fourth and a single in the fifth. Also for the Patriots, Colby Pierce had two hits and two RBI, while Eli Perce had a hit and an RBI. Winning pitcher Ty Taylor scattered four hits over five innings with two strikeouts.
West End 5, Southeastern 4
West End defeated Southeastern, 5-4, in a Class 2A, Area 11 game last Tuesday (Apr. 6) in Remlap. Trevor Willett had two hits for the Patriots, while winning pitcher Eli Pearce struck out four in seven innings.

Caleb Burns had a big day at the plate and on the mound in Etowah’s 8-0 shutout over Ashville last Tuesday (Apr. 6) in Attalla. Burns struck out seven in seven innings and helped his cause with four RBI. Also for the Blue Devils, Trace Thompson and Trent Davis each had two hits and an RBI.
Sardis 14, Douglas 0
Sardis pounded out 14 hits on the way to a 14-0 shutout over Douglas last Tuesday (Apr. 6). For the Lions, Carson Grant had two hits and four RBI; Justin Golden had three hits; and Carson Gillilan had two hits and a pair of RBI. Winning pitcher Blaze Gerhart had five strikeouts in two innings.
Gadsden City 7, Walker Valley (Tenn.) 0
Cory Cline had a hit and two RBI in Gadsden City’s 7-0 shutout over Walker Valley (Tenn.) on Apr. 3 in Chattanooga, Tenn. Bradley Sparks had a hit for the Titans, while Jase Gray had an RBI.
Gwinnett (Ga.) 16, Etowah 8
Etowah lost to Gwinnett (Ga.), 16-8, on April 2 in Chattanooga, Tenn. Trace Thompson had two hits for the Blue Devils.
Signal Mountain (Tenn.) 7, Gadsden City 5
Gadsden City lost to Signal Mountain (Tenn.), 7-5, on April 2 in Chattanooga, Tenn. Kyle Cline struck out seven in six and one-third innings for the Titans.

Westbrook Christian posted a pair of wins on April 1 at the Oxford Invitational Tournament. The Warriors defeated 6A No. 9 Pell City, 7-4. Cole Patterson went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Caiden Wyatt and Eli Grace each went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Fisher Glasgow, Samuel Dutton, Will Noles, Brodie Self and Presley White each had a hit and a run scored. Westbrook followed up with a 3-2 victory over 7A Thompson. Noles earned the win on the mound, scattering five hits, two runs and three walks while striking out nine. He helped his cause with a hit and an RBI. Also at the plate for the Warriors, Dutton went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Gadsden City 15, Central Chattanooga 0
Jase Gray finished with four hits and six BI in Gadsden City’s 15-0 win over Central Chattanooga on April 1 in Chattanooga, Tenn. Eli Barber had four RBI, while Kyle Haney had two hits. Winning pitcher Jordan Nowell struck out nine in five innings.
